But on January 29, Stanford took another look at his overlooked masterpiece,\u00a0<em>The Queen&#8217;s Gambit.\u00a0<\/em>The lively discussion was headed by\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Another Look&#8217;s founding director, the eminent author Tobias Wolff. He was joined by Robert Pogue Harrison, a regular contributor to <em>The<\/em>\u00a0<em>New York Review of Books<\/em>,\u00a0and former Stanford fellow Inga Pierson. Some considered it our best event ever!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tevis was born in San Francisco and grew up in the Sunset District. While his parents relocated to Kentucky, he spent a year in the Stanford Children\u2019s Convalescent Home (which later became Stanford\u2019s Lucile Salter Packard Children\u2019s Hospital).
